put me on the list
with record store day on 18 april just around the corner – and ahead of their hamburg show in december with their band – swiss duo OKVSHO picked three favourite stores.
„SIHL RECORDS, run by ANDREAS RAMOS, is the address for electronic music. you’ll find a lot of modern sounds, but also very niche and alternative records – often with really cool cover designs. we also had the chance to celebrate the release of our orange wine ep there and were part of the wav.ryders project by DJ OB one last year.“

„we got to know HUM RECORDS during our early days as beatmakers. as far as we know, it was for a long time the only store in zurich representing both the local and international beats scene in their shelves. they also hosted monthly sample challenges back then, organized by the legendary hip-hop event series LE FLAH. the shop is run by OLIVER FITZE and MICHAEL BÜCHEL, two notorious diggers who will always come through with great recommendations for some rare hip-hop or dub records.“
with both stores rooted in their hometown of zurich, brothers CHRISTOPH and GEORG KISS explain: „what we really appreciate is that they go beyond being just record shops, they’re important spaces for the music community. both regularly host events, whether it’s producing challenges or release celebrations, and give local artists a platform to connect and share their work in a more intimate setting.“
„love vinyl is our recommendation when visiting london. the store, run by ZAFAR CHOWDHRY and JAKE HOLLOWAY, has a special place in our hearts – it was the first international record store to carry our debut project traphouse jazz. definitely worth a visit.“
